Benjamin Sesko in action for Manchester United during a Premier League match

Barcelona and Juventus are both keeping a close eye on Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko ahead of a potential move in the summer of 2027, but the Red Devils have made it clear they have no intention of selling the Slovenia international, valuing him at around €75 million (£64 million).

Barca and Juve Circle for 2027

According to Italian outlet TuttoJuve, as reported by Sports Mole, Barcelona and Juventus are among the clubs interested in making a move for Sesko in the summer of 2027. The report suggests both clubs are confident that Manchester United would entertain an offer in the region of £64 million — although the Premier League club's public stance tells a very different story.

Juventus are understood to be in the market for a new striker and have added Sesko to their list of possible signings, with club scouts set to watch the Slovenian closely over the coming months. The Bianconeri are also keeping tabs on AS Monaco star Folarin Balogun, who is expected to be on the move next year, while Nick Woltemade's loan deal could yet become permanent under Luciano Spalletti.

Barcelona, meanwhile, have had Sesko on their radar for several months as they continue their search for a new centre forward. The Catalan giants also remain interested in Julián Álvarez, keeping their options open as they reshape their attack.

United in No Mood to Sell

Despite the growing speculation, Manchester United are reportedly unwilling to part ways with their striker. LiveScore, relaying reporting from TEAMtalk, state that the Red Devils have set their valuation at €75 million but do not consider the figure an invitation to negotiate — it is simply what it would take to even start a conversation.

United are said to view Sesko as an important part of manager Michael Carrick's long-term plans, with the club already rejecting an approach from Tottenham during the summer. The forward remains contracted at Old Trafford until 2030, and with defensive reinforcements the priority for next year, the Red Devils are in no rush to sanction an exit.

That confidence is backed by his numbers. Sesko has scored 14 goals and registered one assist in 38 appearances for United in all competitions, including 12 goals in 34 Premier League fixtures, and has averaged a goal every 145 minutes since his arrival.

Injury Concerns Linger

One shadow hanging over any future negotiations is Sesko's fitness. The striker missed the end of last season with a shin injury, was absent throughout pre-season, and has featured just six times in the 2026-27 campaign, scoring twice.

He also missed United's final game before the international break against Fulham due to a recurrence of the shin problem, which has been described as being in danger of becoming chronic. As a result, he is yet to start a Premier League match this season as Carrick manages his workload carefully.

What It Means for 2027

For now, this remains one to watch rather than a deal in motion. Barcelona and Juventus may have to wait if they want to test United's resolve, and the Premier League giants appear in no hurry to engage. United's interest in Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta ahead of the January window is understood to be about adding competition rather than replacing Sesko.

Beyond the Final Whistle: Manchester United hold all the cards in the Benjamin Sesko saga — a long contract, a steep £64 million valuation and a manager who sees the 23-year-old as central to his project. Unless Barcelona or Juventus make an offer too good to refuse, the Slovenian will be leading the line at Old Trafford next summer.

Will either European giant push ahead with a formal bid for Sesko in 2027, or will United's firm stance end the speculation before it starts? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
