Daichi Kamada in a Crystal Palace shirt after scoring in the 3-1 Premier League win over Nottingham Forest

Oliver Glasner's first return to Selhurst Park ended in a nightmare 3-1 defeat as Crystal Palace roared back from a goal down to beat Nottingham Forest — and the home supporters made sure their former manager heard all about it.

Daichi Kamada, Jefferson Lerma and Yeremy Pino all scored as Palace turned a 1-0 deficit into a famous comeback win, their first league victory over Forest in 14 years and a first home league triumph for new boss Pierre Sage.

Forest strike first — then rue the misses

Forest made a dream start when Dan Ndoye fired them ahead in the third minute after a misplaced defensive header back toward goal gifted the visitors the opener. It was no more than they deserved: for half an hour, Glasner's side were the better team at Selhurst Park.

It should have been 2-0. With Forest leading, Liam Delap was denied from just four yards by Walter Benitez, a stunning stop that changed the entire afternoon. The Palace goalkeeper also kept out efforts from Morgan Gibbs-White and Chris Wood as Forest racked up chance after chance without killing the game — wastefulness that theScore highlighted in its match report.

Four mad minutes turn the game on its head

Palace flipped the contest in a chaotic spell at the end of the first half. Kamada pounced on a loose ball in the 41st minute for his first Premier League goal, the strike surviving a VAR check, before Lerma headed the Eagles in front in the fourth minute of added time — his header squirming through Matz Sels' legs from a corner.

Two goals in four mad minutes. A stunned Forest side, who had dominated the shot count, went in behind at the break and never recovered.

Pino ends his drought to seal famous win

Pino wrapped up the points in the 59th minute, reacting quickest after Sels could only parry Jorgen Strand Larsen's effort, to end a run of 19 Premier League appearances without a goal. It was the Spaniard's finest moment in a Palace shirt and it sparked delirious scenes in south London.

The result lifts Palace to 12th on seven points from six games, above Forest in 14th — and ends a 14-year wait for a league win over the Tricky Trees.

Glasner: "I didn't deserve to win here"

The subplot was always Glasner. The 52-year-old Austrian, who led Palace to FA Cup final glory over Manchester City in 2025 and the Conference League title in May before quitting over the club's transfer policy, was applauded off the team bus and warmly clapped onto the touchline — then serenaded with "Glasner, what's the score?" and "you're getting sacked in the morning" once Pino made it 3-1, in quotes carried by DAZN.

This was a fixture crackling with recent history: bad blood between the clubs stretches back to the legal fallout from Palace's demotion to the Conference League before last season, with Forest taking their Europa League place. Glasner, though, refused to blame his players for the defeat.

"We didn't kill the game off," he told Sky Sports. "Today it looks like it is just me who is responsible for this, call it karma or whatever — but it was like I didn't deserve to win at Selhurst Park because the players did everything. Nobody to blame for anything, the effort was there and the quality was there."

Elsewhere on a dramatic Sunday, Manchester City stayed top of the Premier League with their 3-0 win at Liverpool, while talkSPORT's live blog tracked a full slate of weekend scores.

Beyond the Final Whistle: Palace's comeback was built on Benitez's brilliance and ruthless finishing when it mattered most; Forest's wastefulness turned a famous homecoming into a miserable afternoon. If Glasner's side keep creating chances like this, the goals will come — but "sacked in the morning" chants have a way of sticking around.

Did Benitez's stop from Delap save Palace's season in a single moment — and was it the save of the season so far? Let us know in the comments.
