Harry Kane in a Bayern Munich training top

Bayern Munich have been told to expect good news on two fronts, with honorary president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge declaring he is "very confident" Harry Kane will extend his contract soon - and that Michael Olise will be next in line for a new deal.

Rummenigge, who still carries huge influence at the club alongside Uli Hoeness, told German outlet ran that both stars want to stay in Bavaria for the long haul. "Both of them intend to stay at Bayern for a long time," he said. "I hope, and I am also very confident, that Harry will extend his contract soon. And that Michael will be next. I would like to see him stay at Bayern for many more years."

The comments, also carried by LiveScore and amplified by Fabrizio Romano, come as Bayern race to tie down their two marquee attackers before Europe's giants start circling.

Kane deal described as "very harmonious"

Kane's current contract runs until 30 June 2027, and negotiations over an extension began before the start of the season. Sporting director Max Eberl has described the talks as "very harmonious", while Sky Sport Germany reported that one option on the table is an extension until 2029 - although no agreement has been announced yet.

The England captain has been in relentless form since joining from Tottenham in 2023 and passed 91 international goals this week. With MLS commissioner Don Garber publicly naming Kane as a dream target for the American league, Bayern will be keen to get the signature secured and end any speculation early.

Olise's mega-deal and the Real Madrid watch

Olise's situation is more delicate. The 24-year-old French winger is under contract until 2029 with no release clause, but Sky Sport Germany reports Bayern have already opened exploratory talks over an extension - and the numbers being discussed are enormous.

According to Sports Mole, Bayern are prepared to make Olise their highest earner, with a salary that would eclipse both Kane and Jamal Musiala, whose wages are reported at around 25 million euros a year. Journalist Christian Falk has even claimed Bayern could agree to insert a release clause worth more than 200 million euros at the player's request.

Real Madrid are watching the situation closely and remain the one club that could scupper Bayern's plans, per Sky - although even the Spanish giants reportedly believe Olise will end up extending in Munich. Sport Bild, meanwhile, notes that the player's camp, led by adviser Glen Tweneboah, has so far shown no sign of rushing to sign.

Ballon d'Or backing for both

Rummenigge also used the interview to talk up both players' Ballon d'Or credentials. "At Bayern Munich, we can consider ourselves very fortunate to boast two players, Harry Kane and Michael Olise, who rank among the leading contenders for the Ballon d'Or," he said. "They are world-class players, and world-class players do not grow on trees."

On who has the edge, he was clear: "The decisive criterion is individual performance, and Harry Kane has the edge at this level. His goals and titles speak for themselves." Rummenigge remains the last Bayern player to win the award, lifting it in 1980 and 1981.

Head coach Vincent Kompany, speaking to Sky Sport, declined to get drawn into the contract details. "My responsibility is to make sure Harry feels good here, that he performs on the pitch," the Belgian said. "Generally, if things are done well, the rest falls into place more easily."

Beyond the Final Whistle: Bayern are moving early and decisively to lock down Kane and Olise, and Rummenigge's confidence suggests the Kane announcement could land first. With Real Madrid lurking around Olise, the next few months will define Bayern's attacking future for years to come.
