Barcelona have ended any doubt over Raphinha's future, with the Brazilian winger signing a new contract that keeps him at Camp Nou until June 2030, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 29-year-old has been in electrifying form this season, and the Catalan giants have moved decisively to reward their captain and La Liga's leading scorer with a long-term deal that extends his previous contract, which had been due to run until 2028.

Romano: Done and sealed

Transfer expert Romano broke the news on Monday morning, posting on X: "Raphinha has signed new contract at Barcelona until June 2030. All approved, closed with his camp and lawyers. New deal done and sealed. Official announcement and ceremony can take place this week; on Friday, if all goes to plan with documents."

Barcelona are expected to hold the formal signing ceremony on Friday, with the club preparing what Sports Mole describes as a "major announcement" to confirm the agreement publicly.

Deco confirms the 2030 agreement

The deal is no secret inside the club. Sporting director Deco confirmed the breakthrough at Barcelona's General Assembly, revealing: "It has been progressing since yesterday. We have agreed that he will stay until 2030."

According to reports via Catalunya Radio, the Brazilian and his representatives have been in advanced discussions with the club for some time, and Raphinha has never hidden his desire to stay in Catalonia despite lucrative proposals from the Saudi Pro League over the past two summers.

Form that forced Barcelona's hand

Few players in world football have started the 2026-27 campaign like Raphinha. The Brazil international has scored 14 goals and provided three assists in just eight appearances across all competitions.

In La Liga, his numbers are staggering: 12 goals and three assists in seven outings, making him the division's leading scorer. His September form earned him back-to-back La Liga Player of the Month awards after also winning the honour for August, underlining his status as the outstanding attacker in Spain.

Under Hansi Flick, Raphinha has taken on a more central attacking role and thrived, with consecutive hat-tricks against Racing Santander and Sevilla highlighting his devastating finishing, as reported by SoftFootball. He has also been entrusted with the captain's armband, becoming Flick's first-choice leader on the pitch.

The numbers behind the new deal

Raphinha joined Barcelona from Leeds United in the summer of 2022 and has developed into one of the club's most important players. In 185 appearances for the Blaugrana, he has scored 89 goals and registered 62 assists, including 21 goals and 18 assists in 34 Champions League games.

The new contract is a clear statement of intent from Barcelona's board: having committed the club's captain and most productive attacker to the long term, Flick's project now has its leader locked in through the 2029-30 season. That kind of stability matters, especially with Barcelona reportedly continuing to monitor the transfer market, including their interest in Sesko this summer. The squad picture is brightening elsewhere too, with de Jong back anchoring the midfield.

Minor injury worry eases

There was a brief scare last week when Raphinha was substituted at half-time of Brazil's international friendly against Australia with a thigh injury. However, a serious injury has been ruled out, and the winger is expected to be available when Barcelona host Getafe on October 10.

Flick may still manage his minutes carefully given a demanding run ahead, with huge clashes against Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid on the horizon later in the month.

Beyond the Final Whistle verdict: Barcelona tying Raphinha down until 2030 is the single most important piece of business they could do this season. The Brazilian has gone from squad player to captain and La Liga's most lethal forward — and his signature is a statement that this team is building to dominate, not rebuild. Will Raphinha now go on to become a Barcelona legend? Let us know in the comments.
